HCMC Photo Contest for New Facility Art


Have you captured an awe-inspiring or memorable moment in a photo?
Share your best photo from nature’s four seasons, your neighborhood or a favorite place.

Up to 100 photos will be selected, professionally printed, framed and displayed in our new Clinic & Specialty Center patient rooms. The selection process will be organized through Inspire Arts, HCMC's Healing Arts Program serving patients, families and employees. All photographers who submit photos will be eligible to win a professionally framed 16” x 20” enlargement of their photograph. There will be three winners randomly selected from the top #100 photos. Winners will be announced on Facebook and HCMC's internal newsletter, Scanner Weekly by December 31, 2017. Winners will also be notified individually by email.

Who Qualifies to Enter?

All HCMC and HHF employees, staff and their immediate family members; our volunteers; and current or former patients are eligible.


Entries must be received no later than December 1, 2017, 5PM

Selection Criteria

The image will have:

  • Subject matter from nature’s four seasons, your neighborhood or a favorite place;
  • Strong presence of light, e.g. sunlight or light source that evokes vitality, hope or wonder;
  • Artistic viewpoint of the subject;
  • Technical clarity of image.

To Enter

  • Email COLOR digital photos as attachments to:
  • Email Subject line: #WhatInspiresMe
  • Maximum entries: 5 images per person
  • Include in body of email: Your name as you wish to be acknowledged and the name of each photograph and corresponding digital file name. Also state whether you are an employee, family member, volunteer, or patient.

Technical Details

  • The image must be a high-resolution image sized between 2MB up to 3MB (required for a good 16” x 20” enlargement);
  • Images can be oriented either vertically, horizontally or square;
  • Digitally manipulated images are acceptable, but please do not oversaturate colors for unnatural effects.
  • Label each image file with your last name and image title, e.g., Jones.Morning Light
