Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship: Application Requirements

Prospective candidates must show completion of a three-year residency in internal medicine and a three year ACGME accredited fellowship in cardiovascular disease at an ACGME-accredited institution.

Non-resident applicants must possess a J1 visa or green card; this program does not accept H1B visas. Non-resident candidates should submit an ECFMG certificate and results of Step I and II and Step III along with their application.


Beginning December 1, 2017 applications will be accepted through ERAS for the 2019-2020 academic year.

  1. Submission: Submit your application materials to the program coordinator. Our program requires the following support documents:

    • Personal Statement
    • Medical School Diploma
    • USMLE scores (Step I, II, III)
    • ECFMG certificate
    • Three letters of recommendation
    • Recent photo
  2. Scoring: Each applicant will be scored based on these criteria:
    • Demonstrated clinical excellence and professionalism
    • Honors and accomplishments
    • Publications
    • Letters of recommendation
    • Interviews
  3. Interviews: Selected applicants will be invited for interviews.
  4. Decision: The Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship will contact selected candidates individually; we do not participate in the National Resident Matching Program.
