Clinical Chemistry Fellowship Program Highlights Graphic

The fellowship program in clinical chemistry combines training in the analytical, clinical, regulatory and administrative aspects of clinical chemistry, toxicology and molecular diagnostics with applied research experience. The training is designed to prepare the candidate for a career in academic laboratory medicine or clinical practice, industry, or private reference laboratory practice by providing a foundation to apply to future developments in clinical pathology as well as current practice. The training program is organized in the laboratories and clinics of Hennepin County Medical Center. Extensive training is forensic toxicology in cooperation with Medical Examiner cases is included. The training faculty includes 5 individuals of varied backgrounds and interests. The integrated research experience is generally in the laboratories of Dr. Apple or Dr. Hansen. The period of the fellowship is two years.

The HCMC Clinical Chemistry Fellowship program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry. The Commission on Accreditation is an independent non-profit organization that accredits training programs in clinical chemistry at the masters, doctoral, and postdoctoral level.

Applications are accepted September through April of the year preceding the July start date.

  • Submit letter of interest, CV, and 3 letters of reference
