Volunteer Services Hospital Program: Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Hennepin County Medical Center. We welcome everyone from the age of 14 on up. Below is a list of some opportunities. For more information, please visit our application page or contact us.
Cancer Center Ambassador
A vital role in working with the Cancer Center and their patients and families to ensure a positive, warm experience during their treatment and ongoing care.
Here to Help Ambassador
Provide a warm, inviting smile! Be responsible for greeting patients, families and guests upon entrance to HCMC. Help them find their way by escorting them.
Community Events Representative
Represent HCMC and its clinics at events throughout the metro area. Opportunities may include outdoor festivals, parades, health and wellness fairs and others.
Interact with our Patients with our activity carts and help them ease out their stresses through the mode of play and activity.
Same Day Surgery
Volunteer to help us provide patient and family-centered care for our patients, families and guests.
Help our patients, families and guests navigate their way around our large campus via wheel chair. Training is included.
Support the SIM center as actors for training and education, and assistance with office work.
Summer Meal Program
Provide hospitality at HCMC entrances by welcoming families and informing them of the Children’s Summer Meal Program in our cafeteria.
Corporate / Group Volunteer Opportunities
Emergency Clothing Service
Organize a new clothing drive at your organization or school for HCMC’s Emergency Clothing Service. You may also bring your group to organize your donations in our clothing closet.
Meal Tray Greeting Cards
Design greeting cards for patient meal trays.
Supply and staff a hospitality cart of refreshments for visitors and patients.
We will work with your corporate group to customize volunteer experiences.
