Commitment to Patient-Centered Care

"I am committed to give the best personalized up-to-date care I can and no less than what my patients deserve. I believe in the strong mind-body connection and I try to help my patients understand those connections if they are open to it."

Clinical Expertise

Dr. Divertie is board certified in internal medicine, specializing in Latino health issues, diabetes mellitus, and some orthopedic non-surgical procedures. Outside of Western medicine, she has interest in non-traditional medicine practices like guided imagery and teaching her patients self-hypnosis so they can participate actively in their healing. She is fluent in Spanish and Quechua, the Inca language. Dr. Divertie had the privilege of starting the HCMC Spanish Clinic that has now a group of dedicated, bilingual, culturally competent, and compassionate providers caring for our Spanish speaking patients. In addition, she started the HCMC Pre-Op Clinic to provide timely optimization of the patients' chronic medical problems before their surgical procedures.

Personal

"I was born in Ayacucho, Peru and came to Rochester, Minnesota to learn the medical advances and fell in love; this changed my plans for the better. I love my job which is very diverse and I have a special place in my heart for the most vulnerable. I learn from my patients each and every day and try my best so they can get the best care available. When not caring for my patients, I enjoy spending time with family and friends; cooking; gardening; and dancing, especially the Peruvian dances - Marinera and Huayno. I also enjoy going on mission trips to underserved areas of our continent."
