Dr. Thomas Varecka is board-certified in orthopedic surgery. He currently serves as assistant chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Hennepin County Medical Center, and is the University of Minnesotas orthopaedic residency program Director at Hennepin County Medical Center. He has co-chaired the Annual HCMC Orthopaedic and Trauma Seminar since 1994.
Dr. Varecka also serves as assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery for the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where he received the Teacher of the Year award from the orthopaedic residents, and as a lecturer in Hand and Microsurgery for the Niigata University Department of Orthopaedics in Niigata, Japan.
Dr. Varecka has been a member of the executive committee of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association since 1991 and he currently serves as associate editor for the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and as a reviewer of abstracts and posters for the Orthopaedic Trauma Association Annual Meeting.
