Kara Parker, MD
Family and Community Medicine
Dr. Parker graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in 2000 and completed her family medicine residency training at Hennepin County Medical Center in 2003. Upon completion of her residency training, she joined the HCMC Department of Family Medicine as a faculty physician. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Parker provides primary care for all ages, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and obstetrical management.
Dr. Parker has found the holistic and functional medicine approach to patient care helpful in treating most patient conditions, especially those not easily treated by drugs and/or surgery. She practices integrative medicine at the Whittier Clinic in South Minneapolis. Her mission is to provide holistic consultation that combines the best of standard medical knowledge with the highest quality natural, empowering and sustainable therapies.
Dr. Parker is also an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota. In addition to teaching at the University of Minnesota, she also teaches integrative medicine to medical residents.
