Robert H. Maisel, MD
Ear, Nose and Throat
Dr. Maisel is currently a professor of otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Chief of Otolaryngology at Hennepin County Medical Center and a member of the Finance Committee and Board of Directors of Hennepin Faculty Associates as well as the Medical Executive Committee of the hospital.
Dr. Maisel was president of the Minnesota Academy of Otolaryngology and has held many positions within the national and regional medical organizations. He was a member of the Board of Directors at Temple Israel in Minneapolis and was on the board of neighborhood improvement (NIC). Dr. Maisel was president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and remains a consultant to the Instruction Course Advisory Committee of the Academy. Dr. Maisel is also past president of the Middle Section of the Triological Society, the specialtys most important scientific organization. He was a member of the Board of Governors at the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery for 15 years representing Minnesota and has been a 9-term member of the AMA CPT Editorial Committee.
Dr. Maisel received a presidential citation from the Triological Society in 2008 and for 18 months served as interim chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota. He also served on the Search Committee to identify a chairman to succeed himself.
