Clinical Expertise

Valerie is a Family Nurse Practitioner who sees patients of all ages in primary care. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Anderson University. She started her career at Mayo Clinic as a Registered Nurse in a Thoracic Surgery PCU and then worked in a Diabetes & Nutrition Education Center and in a family practice clinic before completing her Master of Science degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Ball State University. She started her nurse practitioner career with the University of Minnesota at the Community University Health Care Center and came to Hennepin County Medical Center in March 2016. She enjoys seeing children and adults and has a special interest in women's health, diabetes and travel medicine. She is a Spanish speaking provider.

"I enjoy spending time with friends and family, taking walks along the Mississippi river, biking around the Chain of Lakes and camping throughout Minnesota. I have served as a volunteer for humanitarian work in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Uganda."
