Dr. Hart is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah and received her Bachelors degree from the University of Utah. She attended medical school at the University of California San Francisco and spent additional time after medical school working at the San Francisco Department of Public Health, providing care for underserved populations. She also taught physiology at the medical school while completing her medical education fellowship. Dr. Hart returned to Utah for her internal medicine residency and practiced as an internist for two years at a teaching hospital prior to moving to Minneapolis. She completed her nephrology fellowship and Masters of Science in Clinical Research at the University of Minnesota. She continues to enjoy teaching medical students, residents and fellows and is an associate program director for the HCMC/VA Nephrology Fellowship Program. She loves caring for patients with kidney disease. Her research interests include kidney function in the elderly, management of chronic kidney disease and outcomes for patients on the kidney transplant waiting list.
