How to Log In

  • Within our Online Careers System, choose "Click here to Register" in the Login box at the top of the screen (or simply log in if you have registered previously).
  • Create a unique User ID and Password. Both your ID and password will be case-sensitive and should be recorded for future use. (Human Resources cannot recover lost log-in information.)

How to Apply

Due to the high volume of job seekers, we conduct the majority of our communications through email. If you do not already have an email address, you may wish to open a free account through Gmail. If you do not have Internet access, please visit your local library or the Minnesota Workforce Center. You are also welcome to visit our Human Resources location to apply at our application kiosk.

Once you've found a job opening that interests you, fill out an online application.

  • Click the "Apply Now" button on the job posting to open an interactive application form.
  • Create a Profile with your name and contact information. This is only done the first time you apply at Hennepin; next time you log in, your profile will already be saved in the system.
  • Choose to Copy and Paste resume text, Upload a resume, or to apply without a resume.
  • Complete each section of the application. When you are finished, click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen to proceed to the Terms and Agreements page. (If you have missed any of the required information on the application, you will receive an error message; enter the missing information indicated by the message before clicking "Continue" again.)
  • To finalize your application, read Hennepin’s Terms and Agreements. You must choose to "agree" to these terms and push "Submit" before your application will be accepted.
  • You’re done! You will receive one e-mail to confirm submission of your application. If you are selected for further consideration, you will be contacted by a Hennepin staff member.

How to Receive Email Notifications About New Jobs

Don’t see a job that interests you today? Set up a Job Search Agent to notify you of future openings!

  • Using the "Advanced Search" option, choose your interests (search criteria) and select "Create Search Agent." Keep criteria simple: 1-2 keywords, job families, and/or locations per search.
  • Give your saved search a name and check the box titled "Save as Job Agent."
  • Enter the email address you want these notifications sent to. It's that simple!

Phone Interview

What to expect:

  • 15-20 minute informative conversation with the recruiter about HCMC and the specific position you are being considered for, in order to gain a better understanding of your qualifications, including relevant work experience, job interests, work availability, etc.

Tips on completing the phone screen:

  • Know what job you are interviewing for
  • Be familiar with the job posting
  • Be familiar with the mission and values of the organization
  • Keep your answers concise
  • Be prepared to cite specific examples of your previous work/student/volunteer experience
  • Speak slowly and enunciate clearly
  • Take your time; it is perfectly acceptable to take a moment to collect your thoughts
  • Have a copy of your resume in front of you so you can follow along with the recruiter

In-Person Interview

  • Acceptable Attire: Business Casual
    Please note that we are a scent-free facility so please refrain from wearing perfume or any scented lotion.
  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for your interview
  • Be prepared to cite specific examples of your previous work/student/volunteer experience
  • Prepare questions for the manager regarding any specifics of the position that you may have questions about
