Requirements

All application materials to be uploaded through the APPA CAS are as follows.

  1. A cover letter (indicating if they are interested in the Adult, Child, or Primary Care/Health Psychology position) that describes your reasons for applying to the positions, perception of fit of past training experiences with our program at HCMC, experiences with interventions and assessments (especially those that are evidence based), and career goals.
  2. Curriculum Vita.
  3. 3 letters of recommendation (called "evaluations" in this portal), at least one of which must be from an internship supervisor.
  4. A de-identified (per HIPAA standards) integrated assessment report.
  5. A letter from your dissertation chair regarding status of your dissertation and anticipated date of completion. If your dissertation chair is already providing one of your letters of recommendation, this information can be included in that letter.

Additional Information

Selected applicants are invited to interview for our positions. As we recognize that travel costs can be prohibitive, we offer telephone interviews with Training Staff members and opportunities to connect with our current fellows through email. If an applicant wants to come to HCMC for an in-person visit, we will attempt to provide an opportunity for them to tour our facilities and meet with the training director. This in-person visit will not affect our selection process.

Students from APA-accredited (as well as CPA-accredited) graduate programs will be considered. We also require completion of an APA-accredited or CPA-accredited internship.
