Geriatric Medicine

Physicians in the Division of Geriatric Medicine provide primary care and assessment/consultative services to the elderly in a variety of settings. Staff geriatricians and nurse practitioners provide inpatient, outpatient, and nursing-facility care. Patients who are likely to benefit from geriatric-medicine evaluation include those with memory or mood problems, incontinence, gait instability, falls, chronic illness, and complex drug regimens, as well as those for whom nursing home placement is being considered.
