Louis J. Ling, MD is Associate Medical Director for Medical Education at Hennepin County Medical Center as well as Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pharmacy. Dr. Ling coordinates and oversees all the medical, dental and podiatry residency training programs and the continuing education program. He chairs the GME committee that sets the policies for the education programs, oversees the grievance procedures and assists residents if they need individual assistance.

Tam Christensen-Prose has been the Graduate Medical Education Programs Manager at HCMC since 2000. Her career in medical education started in 1994 as Medical Student Coordinator for the Department of Internal Medicine. Tam took over the position of Internal Medicine Residency Program Coordinator in 1995, where she remained until she came to the Office of the Medical Director.

Kelly Shaw Napolitano is the Residency Management Suite (RMS) Coordinator. RMS is the online software system used by all HCMC residency and fellowship programs to better manage all aspects of GME training. She started at HCMC in 2007 and brought with her over 10 years of GME experience from the University of Michigan’s Department of Surgery. Kelly provides RMS education, solutions, and information to all those involved in GME training programs.

Judi Shurson has been the Graduate Medical Education Administrative Coordinator as well as the Program Coordinator for the Transitional residency program for the past 10 years. She works with all new residents and fellows by planning and executing Orientation, as well as being the main contact for all current trainees. Judi’s position covers a wide range of administrative duties and provides support to all areas of Graduate Medical Education here at HCMC.
