This new class is offered in partnership by the Childbirth Education Program and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education Department. Taught by Certified CPR instructors from EMS, this class is designed for parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others who will be caring for the new baby or young children. This interactive class will allow you to learn basic life support skills as well as practice what you would do in an emergency situation. No course cards are issued at the end of class.
Topics include:
Rescue breathing.
Clearing an obstructed airway/choking.
CPR for infants and children.
Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for children over age of 1 year.
This class can be taken before or after the baby’s birth.
Costs: $24 per family (2 adults)
*We will not bill insurance for the cost of this class. You are responsible to pay online at the time of registration.
There must be a minimum of 6 participants in the class or the class will be cancelled. You can reschedule to another class.
